To promote ease of doing business and boost exports, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications has recommended tax exemptions for freelancers for ten years, easier account opening, and the elimination of double taxes on the total telecom sector.
Aminul Haq, Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications, stated this to this correspondent after chairing the first meeting of the Committee on IT Exports Growth on Tuesday. According to Haque, the ideas were submitted in the meeting with the ultimate goal of achieving the +ACQ-3.5 billion export objective by the conclusion of the current fiscal year.
The meeting also addressed the ease of doing business and strategies for increasing IT exports. It also aimed to help the IT industry and freelancers.
The meeting’s overarching goal was to boost IT exports.
Dr. Sohail Rajput, Secretary Information Technology, officials from the State Bank of Pakistan, the Federal Board of Revenue, the Commerce Ministry, the Board of Investment, and the MD of PSEB, Osman Nasir, were also present.
