100+ Companies Joined GIKI’s Industrial Open House for Talent Aquisition

GIKI in Pakistan recently organized its Industrial Open House 2024, showcasing the innovative projects of its final-year students. Over 100 companies, both national and international, participated in this event, providing a platform for students to display their talents and interact with industry leaders.

During the event, Mr. Jamil Akhtar, a member of WAPDA and Chief Guest, emphasized the importance of creative solutions in addressing national challenges. He highlighted the crucial role that universities like GIKI play in resolving various issues and announced the establishment of WAPDA University, inspired by GIK Institute’s model.

Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid, the Rector of GIK Institute, expressed pride in the institution’s focus on research activities, which has led to the high demand for its graduates in leading multinational companies worldwide. He noted that GIKI graduates are sought after for their caliber and potential contribution to the country’s economy.

Moreover, Startup pakistan was the official media partner of Giki industrial open house 2024. GIKI specially invited the Startup Pakistan team to the open house event.

The Industrial Open House showcased 135 final-year projects over a span of two days, attracting industry leaders and providing students with networking opportunities and potential employment prospects. Companies engaged with students, conducting interviews and shortlisting candidates for job opportunities.

In recognition of excellence, certificates were awarded to the top projects from each department, acknowledging the hard work and dedication of the students. Additionally, GIKI souvenirs were presented to the Chief Guest and Guest of Honors as tokens of appreciation.

The event served as a platform for students to gain insights into industry expectations, career opportunities, and networking. Some companies conducted on-the-spot interviews, while others shortlisted students for future job openings, highlighting the value of experiential learning and industry collaboration in grooming the next generation of engineering talent.

Looking ahead, GIK Institute plans to celebrate three decades of excellence in December, further solidifying its commitment to providing quality education and fostering innovation in engineering and technology.
