With aspirations in their eyes and determination in their stride, students of the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) attended the annual Career Fair with a goal to secure their professional future. Across the venue, HR professionals from 117 leading organizations engaged with emerging talent, identifying and assessing future contributors to their industries. In that defining moment, the gap between classroom learning and corporate reality visibly began to close.
This was the aura during the annual Career Fair hosted by IoBM on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. Leading exhibitors representing a broad spectrum of industries, from IT services and pharmaceuticals to consumer goods, fast-food chains, personal care, banking and financial services, media, among others, came together under one roof. Each stall told a different story of growth, innovation, and demand, offering students not only exposure to diverse career pathways but also a clearer understanding of the evolving dynamics shaping today’s professional landscape.
The event was graced by IoBM Chancellor Bashir Janmohammad and Zubair Tufail, Chairman and CEO of Tufail Chemical Industries Limited. Members of IoBM’s senior management also graced the occasion.
Organized by IoBM’s Career Development Centre (CDC), the Career Fair was designed to facilitate a structured transition from academia to the professional world. HR leaders and corporate representatives engaged directly with final-year students, providing insights into recruitment processes, competency frameworks, and industry expectations. Conversations extended beyond immediate vacancies to long-term career planning, emerging roles, and in-demand skill sets, encouraging students to strategically align their academic preparation with contemporary market realities.
Participating organizations expressed strong enthusiasm for IoBM’s Career Fair, describing it as an effective channel for identifying and engaging with emerging talent. Representatives appreciated the opportunity to interact directly with students in an environment that fosters curiosity, ambition, and professional readiness.
Exhibitors noted that the Career Fair enabled meaningful dialogue rather than routine recruitment exchanges. They were particularly encouraged by the level of preparation demonstrated by students, who asked pertinent and well-informed questions about career progression, required competencies, and long-term professional growth. Such interactions, they observed, reflected a maturing workforce that is not only seeking employment but also striving to make strategic career decisions.
Representatives remarked that engaging with students at this stage allows organizations to better understand the aspirations, expectations, and skill sets of the next generation. They described the event as a valuable opportunity to connect with future professionals who were eager to contribute significantly to Pakistan’s evolving economic landscape.
Over the years, IoBM’s Career Fair has developed into one of the country’s most prominent university-led recruitment initiatives. Its continued growth reflects IoBM’s sustained commitment to bridging the gap between academic excellence and industry requirements. By integrating employment opportunities with academic strengths, the initiative reinforces professional awareness, practical insight, and informed career decision-making.
A distinguishing feature of the 2026 Career Fair at IoBM was the depth and quality of engagement between students and industry leaders. These interactions moved beyond transactional hiring conversations, allowing students to explore job functions, growth trajectories, organizational culture, and performance expectations, insights that are seldom captured in formal job descriptions. Through structured networking and purposeful dialogue, the event fostered enduring connections between emerging professionals and reputable employers.
IoBM’s Career Fair 2026 featured leading national and multinational organizations, including ABACUS, Adamjee Life, The Aga Khan University, BankIslami, Chase Up, Continental Biscuits, easypaisa, Engro, Getz Pharma, ibex, L’Oréal, Dalda Foods, Ismail Industries Limited, Suzuki, Saeed Ghani, RAJBY, Reon, PharmEvo, Jubilee Insurance, Dun & Bradstreet, and Martin Dow, among others, reflecting strong industry confidence in IoBM’s talent pool.
