Alfred “Al” Blaschke, a man from Texas, USA, who is 106 years old, has become the world’s oldest person to tandem skydive once again. When he did his jump, Al was 106 years and 327 days old, which is more than three years older than the previous record-holder.
He first set the record in 2020 when he jumped out of a moving plane from 14,000 feet high to celebrate his twin grandsons’ college graduations. It was only his second time skydiving; the first was on his 100th birthday, three years earlier.
Al decided to do his latest skydive after a Swedish woman named Rut Linnéa Ingegärd Larsson broke his record in 2022. She was 103 years and 259 days old. With the governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, by his side, Al successfully completed the jump, showing that age doesn’t stop him from seeking adventure and achieving his goals.
