13-Years Ago, Floridian Programmer, Bought 2 Papa John’s Pizza for 10,000 BTC. Today, those Pizzas Would be Valued at $267 Million

Bitcoin is a type of digital currency that uses blockchain technology. It has been around for a long time and is still popular today. Bitcoin is worth a lot of money, with its total value being in the trillions.

When Bitcoin first started, it was difficult to find trustworthy places to trade it. People mostly communicated directly through online discussion boards and chat rooms to exchange Bitcoin. At that time, Bitcoin didn’t have much value and was only worth a few cents.

A person named Laszlo Hanyecz, who lived in Florida and knew a lot about programming, played an important role in promoting Bitcoin. He made history on May 22, 2010, by being the first person to use Bitcoin to buy something. He bought two pizzas from Papa John’s and paid 10,000 BTC for them. At that time, the value of Bitcoin was $41, so the pizzas cost him about $41 in total. Today, if he had kept those 10,000 BTC, they would be worth around $300 million.
