According to the statement given by Raja Basharat- Punjab Law and Cooperatives Minister, installation of 1538 water filtration plants are approved for the entire province under Punjab Aab-i-Pak Authority.
While speaking to media reporters on Friday, after Punjab assembly session Raja Basharat declared this news. And said that providing the clean drinking water was the main priority of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Govt, adding that clean drinking water was essential to the health of the people.
He further said that 38 FIRs had been filed against the gang doing unknown calls to the people in Sargodha & other areas, for ransom. Adding that the gang’s ringleader has been tracked abroad & red warrants had been circulated for his arrest.
Replying to another question, the law minister stated that Punjab Food Authority was taking serious measures against the factories in Lahore making ice from contaminated water. “Last month, 310 raids were conducted against such factories & were fined Rs 0.87 million.”.
While answering to a People’s Party MPA, Raja Basharat said that according to the investigations, former MPA Shahaan Hakimeen Malik was killed by his own nephew.
“I assure that Shahaan Malik’s killers will be punished according to law. After the martyrdom of Benazir Bhutto, the PPP had its own government for 5 years but the killers were not arrested and the PPP workers are still chanting slogans. ‘Bibi, we are ashamed. Your killers are alive.’ Said the minister.
