Hyundai Nishat Motor has issued a recall for over 1,600 Tucson automobiles in Pakistan, citing a probable malfunction in the anti-lock braking system (ABS) module as the reason.
The company encouraged customers to take their vehicles to Hyundai dealerships since the fault might “potentially short-circuit.”
Customers who got delivery within the first four months of the August 2020 launch are likely to be affected by the recall.
Norez Abdullah, the company’s chief financial officer, acknowledged the development on Monday, saying that it was being done as a preventive step.
The warning comes only months after Hyundai Motor Co. of South Korea announced a recall of 129,000 US vehicles due to an engine issue that could lead to a fire, according to Reuters in December 2020.
