The World Economic Forum (WEF) has declared the celebration of ‘Pakistan Strategy Day’ on 25 November in order to recognize the active policies of Prime Minister Imran Khan against COVID-19. According to the information, the WEF made the announcement after Pakistan became the least economically affected country by the pandemic.
During the first wave of COVID-19, Pakistan experienced the lowest economic setback by implementing, among other effective policies, a smart lockdown. WEF will hold a day-long event on 25 November as a commendation, and Prime Minister Imran Khan will be the chief guest.
Various major investors, industrialists, and businessmen from around the world will attend the gathering, according to the spokesperson. A live interview with Imran Khan at 9:00 PST will reportedly be conducted by the President of the World Economic Forum, where the PM will brief on his plans for managing the spread of the virus.
The PM would also shed light on the COVID relief package of Rs. 12 billion, including construction sector incentives. In a Q&A session with the Prime Minister, numerous investors and chief executives from around the world will also participate. Notable ministers have also been invited via video connection to attend separate sessions.
PM Finance Advisor Abdul Hafeez Sheikh will discuss the economic relief packages. The performance of the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) will be headlined later by the Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Asad Umar. Malik Amin Aslam, Special Assistant to the PM on Climate Change, will also address the Green Economy.
In addition, Hammad Azhar, Federal Minister for Industries and Development, will discuss relief in the country’s industrial package. Energy Minister Omar Ayub will address alternative energy policies and Sania Nishtar, through the ‘Ehsas Emergency Cash’ Initiative, will speak about supporting millions of families.
