The Pakistan Council for Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) has declared 28 bottled water brands unsafe due to harmful bacteria and dangerous chemicals.
The council tested 176 bottled water samples from 20 cities across Pakistan. The results showed that some brands, like Miran Drinking Water, Neo, and Oslo, had dangerously high sodium levels. Others, such as One Pure, Indus, and Orwell, contained excessive amounts of arsenic, a toxic chemical that can harm human health. Hunza Utter Water was also found to have high levels of potassium.
In addition to chemical contamination, 16 brands were found to contain bacteria, making them unsafe for drinking. PCRWR has warned consumers to be cautious and check the quality of bottled water before consuming it to avoid potential health risks.
