Pakistan’s auto industry showed impressive growth in May 2025. According to the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), car sales reached 14,762 units during the month a 35% increase compared to May 2024 and a 39% rise from April 2025.
In the first 11 months of the current financial year (11MFY25), total car sales rose by 39% year-on-year to 126,226 units. This strong performance is mainly due to lower interest rates, reduced inflation, and improved consumer confidence.
Among individual companies, Indus Motor Company led the way with sales of 4,829 units in May which is 2.4 times higher than the same month last year and 48% higher than April. Honda Atlas also showed improvement, selling 2,005 units, up 69% year-on-year. Pak Suzuki recorded 5,519 units, a 38% increase compared to the previous month.
Another notable performer was Sazgar, with sales rising 67% month-on-month to 919 units.
The market for two- and three-wheelers also showed healthy growth. A total of 150,175 bikes and rickshaws were sold in May 2025 a 26% increase from the same month last year.
