76% Pakistanis to Accept Elections Results: Survey

According to a recent survey by Ipsos, a large majority of Pakistanis, about 76%, are okay with accepting the results of the upcoming 2024 general elections. Only a small fraction, around 7%, have some concerns about it.

This survey was done to check people’s feelings about the elections happening on February 8. It shows that most people in Pakistan believe in the democratic system and are okay with how the voting works.

The survey also found that 17% of the people surveyed didn’t vote. Among those who did vote, 77% of people in rural areas and 74% in cities said they would accept the election results. More people in rural areas seem to trust that the elections will be fair.

Breaking it down by region, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 79% of people are okay with the election results, while in Punjab, it’s 78%. In Balochistan, 63% of people are willing to accept, and in Sindh, it’s 74%. In Islamabad, where the capital city is, 53% of people don’t have any issues with the election results.

It’s important to remember to bring your CNIC to the polling station when you go to vote. You can’t vote without it, and you can’t use photocopies either.

So, overall, the survey shows that most Pakistanis are ready to accept the results of the elections, which are coming up soon on February 8, 2024.
