9th & 10th April Holidays Announced in Islamabad

The Islamabad district administration has announced local holidays on April 9 and 10, 2026, across the federal capital. The decision was confirmed through an official notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon. However, the notification did not clearly mention the reason behind these holidays.

The timing of the announcement has drawn attention, as it coincides with Pakistan’s offer to host important peace talks between Iran and the United States. These talks are seen as a key step in reducing tensions in the region after a recent ceasefire.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has confirmed that he will attend the summit scheduled for April 10 in Islamabad. The meeting is expected to focus on regional stability and possible long-term solutions to ongoing conflicts.

Due to the high-level nature of the visit, strict security measures are likely to be in place across the city. As a result, educational institutions, government offices, and many private workplaces will remain closed during these two days.

Despite the closures, essential services will continue to operate as usual. Hospitals, law enforcement agencies, and utility providers such as IESCO and SNGPL will remain fully active to ensure that daily life is not disrupted.

Authorities have advised residents to plan their activities accordingly and cooperate with security arrangements during this period.
