UAE Distributes Clean Drinking Water to Gà-zà from Desalination Plant

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has taken a humanitarian step by providing clean drinking water to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. This water is sourced from desalination plants located in Rafah, Egypt. The initiative is part of Operation Gallant Knight 3, a project aimed at assisting people in need.

A desalination plant, recently opened on the Egyptian side of the Rafah border, is the first of three planned facilities. Each plant has the capacity to produce 200,000 gallons of treated water per day, with the goal of supplying water to 300,000 Gazans daily.

In addition to water assistance, the UAE has extended its support through the ‘Be their Warmth’ campaign, overseen by the Emirates Red Crescent. Over 1.6 million pieces of warm clothing and blankets have been sent to the Gaza Strip.

This comprehensive aid effort seeks to alleviate the hardships faced by Palestinians, especially considering the ongoing conflict and the challenging winter conditions they are experiencing. The UAE’s involvement reflects a commitment to addressing the immediate needs of the affected population in Gaza.
