The Caretaker Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Aneeq Ahmed, has announced the results for the Hajj 2024 government scheme, a big moment for many hopeful pilgrims. Out of 69,438 applications, 63,805 people have been chosen in the draw.
Minister Aneeq Ahmed shared this news at a press conference in Karachi. He mentioned a waiting list of 5,633 applicants based on departure cities. If selected people cancel, those on the waiting list will have a chance. Updates will be sent through messages, websites, and a special app.
Applications for the sponsorship scheme are still open until December 31. Notably, 56 percent of applicants are women, showing a strong interest. The ministry is focused on being fair and clear in the selection process.
To make the pilgrimage better, Minister Aneeq talked about new short-term Hajj facilities in Pakistan. Pilgrims will get a suitcase with a QR code for security. Additionally, women pilgrims will receive free Pakistani flag-themed abayas and a 7GB data card to enhance their overall Hajj experience.
