Woman with 23 iPhones Attached to Her Body Arrested at Karachi Airport

At Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, customs officials successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle 23 iPhones 15 Pro Max, valued at Rs9.2 million. The incident unfolded when a passenger arriving from Sharjah drew suspicion due to unsatisfactory responses in the green channel, meant for travelers without goods to declare.

Further scrutiny ensued as officials scanned her luggage, revealing empty boxes of mobile phones and graphics cards. This discovery prompted a thorough search, ultimately uncovering 23 iPhones 15 Pro Max cleverly concealed on her person.

The combined value of the seized phones amounted to Rs9.2 million, and there was an additional duty tax of Rs4.3 million applicable. Subsequently, the woman was arrested, and authorities confiscated the smuggled mobile phones.

This incident highlights the vigilance of customs officials in identifying and preventing attempts to illegally bring valuable items into the country. Smuggling attempts not only violate regulations but can also result in significant financial losses for those involved.
