The Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan is hopeful that the Gwadar International Airport will start operating in 2025.
According to a recent announcement from the Civil Aviation Authority, the New Gwadar International Airport has been certified as a global aerodrome category C for the next two years. This certification ensures that the airport is suitable for airplane landings in various weather conditions.
Officials also emphasized the installation of a modern landing system at the airport, allowing big planes like the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 to land safely.
In December of the previous year, the CAA issued a new flight schedule for Gwadar Airport covering three months. According to this schedule, flights were set to operate three days a week (Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday) from December 1 to February 28, 2024. Non-scheduled flights were required to notify the Gwadar Airport administration 24 hours in advance.
