In a significant shift impacting Pakistan’s industrial landscape, there has been a notable upward trajectory in local steel prices, which could have implications for the overall industry.
Local steel producers have officially raised prices by Rs. 7,000 per ton, with the updated prices for steel rebar falling in the range of Rs. 262,000 to Rs. 270,000 per ton.
This marked increase is substantial compared to the rates recorded on October 31, 2023, which ranged from Rs. 259,000 to Rs. 264,000 per ton. Industry experts attribute this surge to heightened pressures on procuring raw materials, potentially introducing risks to the supply chain and exerting further influence on steel prices.
