Hyundai Mobis, the division responsible for making car parts at Hyundai, is developing an innovative technology known as e-Corner. This system is designed to allow all four wheels of a car to turn individually and rotate up to 90 degrees.
This means that the car can perform unique and impressive maneuvers, such as “crab driving,” which allows it to slide into a parking spot sideways without needing to back up.
Additionally, it can execute a “zero turn,” essentially making a U-turn without having to follow the traditional U-shaped path.
The technology is currently being showcased on a Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric SUV. While it hasn’t been officially confirmed for commercial release, its demonstration underscores the potential for introducing exciting and unconventional driving capabilities in the future.
This kind of innovation could potentially offer drivers more flexibility and convenience in navigating various situations on the road.
