Bye Bye Nokia? Manufacturer of Nokia Smartphones Will Not Use ‘Nokia’ Anymore!

HMD Global, the company known for making Nokia-branded smartphones for the past seven years, is gearing up to launch a series of devices under its own HMD brand. This move suggests a potential shift away from Nokia-branded smartphones.

Founded in 2016 after Microsoft’s 10-year rights to the Nokia brand concluded, HMD Global is preparing to unveil its inaugural HMD-branded smartphone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona. The Finnish company is creating anticipation around its upcoming product lineup, indicating a change in focus.

On HMD’s official website, there is mention of establishing an original HMD brand. While maintaining a commitment to Nokia smartphones, the company aims to expand by introducing original HMD devices and forming new partnerships. This strategic move positions HMD Global to offer a diverse range of products, including smartphones, tablets, and feature phones.
