In an intense situation at Lahore Airport, customs officers made a surprising discovery when they found 303 expensive mobile phones hidden in the luggage of a passenger who had just arrived from Sharjah, UAE.
Led by Customs Deputy Commissioner Raja Bilal Naseem, the customs team stopped a potential smuggling attempt. They carefully examined the belongings of the suspect, Muhammad Adil, and found a large number of high-end smartphones, mostly iPhones. The total value of these phones was estimated to be more than Rs. 85 million.
Adil was immediately taken into custody, and a formal complaint was filed against him. This incident prompted authorities to launch a thorough investigation to determine where the phones came from and why Adil was attempting to bring them into the country illegally. It’s important to note that just last month, Customs officers seized 65 mobile phones worth over Rs. 1.5 billion from another passenger who had arrived from Sharjah at Lahore International Airport.
