President Asif Ali Zardari has decided not to take his salary as President of Pakistan due to the tough economic situation. He wants to help manage the country’s money better by not adding to the expenses.
In a statement from the President Secretariat Press Wing released on Tuesday, it was explained that President Zardari thinks it’s important not to burden the government’s funds. That’s why he chose not to accept his salary.
President Zardari was sworn in for his second term as President of Pakistan on March 10. The ceremony took place at Aiwan-i-Sadr in Islamabad, and Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa administered the oath.
After winning the election to become the 14th president of the country on Saturday, he then swore in Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s 19-member cabinet. This was after he won against Mahmood Khan Achakzai from the Sunni Ittehad Council.
