Islamabad Land Owners to Pay Heavy Property Taxes

A recent report states that the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has introduced new taxes on real estate properties in Islamabad.

As per the notification from the CDA, owners of 140 square yards plots in sectors and housing societies like Shehzad Town, Margala Town, and Rawal Town will now need to pay a tax of Rs24,000.

Moreover, owners of farmhouses covering eight kanals will be charged a property tax of Rs180,000, while those with farmhouses ranging from 90 to 120 kanals will face a tax of Rs442,000.

The notification also outlines tax rates for commercial properties in the blue area: Rs32 per square foot for the ground floor, Rs22 per square foot for basements, and Rs26 per square foot for residential apartments.

Furthermore, property taxes for private hospitals will be Rs22 per square foot, Rs180 per square yard for petrol pumps and CNG stations, and Rs13 per square foot for marquees and marriage halls, according to the notification.
