Raeli media recently stated that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has decided to stop working with Israel diplomatically. This decision came after seven aid workers in Gaza were killed by Israeli forces.
Officials in Tel Aviv, where Israel’s government is based, said that the UAE’s foreign ministry strongly criticized Israel’s ambassador about what happened.
Israel’s Foreign Minister, Israel Katz, called the UAE’s Foreign Minister, Abdullah bin Zayed, to talk about what happened.
At the same time, Israel’s Director General of the Foreign Ministry, Yaakov Blitshtein, met with Ambassador Mohammed Mahmoud Al-Khaja from the UAE to try to fix things.
Ambassador Al-Khaja said that this situation is the worst it has ever been between the two countries.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the workers’ deaths were an accident.
It’s important to remember that the UAE was one of the countries that signed the Abraham Accord with the US in September 2020, which was supposed to make relations with Israel more normal.
