President Sheikh Mohamed of the UAE sent his condolences to Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman after floods hit the country. He wished a speedy recovery to those who were hurt. Oman faced heavy rains, causing severe flooding in many areas. The Royal Oman Police quickly rescued school students trapped in buses, families stuck in flooded homes, and drivers caught in strong water currents. Teams from the Royal Oman Police, the Royal Army of Oman, and the Civil Defence Authority moved students to safer places. Residents also helped stranded people in their vehicles.
The heavy rains continued to hit Oman, and the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) found the body of a missing person in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate. The death toll from the bad weather reached thirteen, including nine students, two residents, and one expatriate, according to the National Committee for Emergency Management.
The UAE’s leadership supports Oman during this tough time and offers sympathy for the loss and suffering caused by the floods.
