Punjab Police officer Riffat Bukhari has been awarded the Excellence in Performance Award by the International Association of Women Police for her outstanding work.
The president of the association, Deborah Friedl, praised Bukhari for her exceptional policing skills, which include efforts to improve women’s safety and the use of AI in preventing crime. Bukhari’s leadership in developing smart traffic management systems was also recognized.
Bukhari will receive the award at the 61st annual conference in Chicago, USA, scheduled for September 2024. Punjab Police Inspector General Dr. Usman Anwar commended Bukhari’s achievement, highlighting its significance for all police officers, especially women.
