Can you believe it? This facility has the capability to operate at sea for an impressive 15 years without needing to dock!
Recently completed in east China’s Qingdao City, Asia’s first cylindrical floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) facility represents a significant technological achievement in the country’s high-end offshore oil and natural gas exploration.
Named “Haikui No.1,” this colossal structure was entirely designed and constructed by China.
Comprising 600,000 individual parts, the floating vessel features functional modules integrated onto both its hull and deck. With a maximum diameter of approximately 90 meters and a height exceeding 60 meters, it is engineered with a maximum displacement of 100,000 tonnes and a storage capacity of 60,000 tonnes of oil.
