Dubai’s ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, has announced a major project on a social media platform to build a rainwater drainage network.
This initiative aims to enhance the city’s ability to manage heavy rains following recent floods. Construction is scheduled to begin right away, with completion expected by 2033.
The new network will be extensive, covering all parts of Dubai. It is designed to handle more than 20 million cubic meters of water daily, significantly increasing the city’s drainage capacity by 700%.
This development is crucial for Dubai, known for its modern infrastructure and status as a leading business center in the UAE.
