Chinese bus manufacturer Yutong is planning to set up a factory in Karachi to make electric buses. The CEO of Yutong Middle East and other company officials met with Sindh’s Transport Minister, Sharjeel Memon, to announce this plan. They aim to start building the factory within three months.
Minister Memon said that the factory will focus on assembling electric and hybrid diesel buses for use within the city. The goal is to have the plant ready by next year.
This project is expected to help local industries grow, create new jobs, and encourage the export of buses. It will also help reduce the amount of money Pakistan spends on buying buses from other countries.
