THQ Hospital in Mian Channu Renamed After Arshad Nadeem

Punjab’s Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has approved renaming the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital in Mian Channu to honor Olympian Arshad Nadeem. The hospital will now be called the “Olympian Arshad Nadeem THQ Hospital,” in recognition of his outstanding performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Arshad Nadeem made history by breaking a long-standing Olympic record in the Men’s Javelin Throw finals. With a remarkable throw of 92.97 meters, he not only shattered a 118-year-old record but also brought home a gold medal, earning widespread admiration both in Pakistan and around the world.

The decision to rename the hospital was formalized through a notification from Punjab’s Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department.

The notification confirmed that the 100-bed hospital in Nadeem’s hometown of Mian Channu will now bear his name. The statement read: “With the approval of the competent authority, the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital in Mian Channu, District Khanewal, is hereby renamed ‘Olympian Arshad Nadeem THQ Hospital’.”

This renaming serves as a tribute to Nadeem’s exceptional achievement and his contribution to bringing pride to his country.

The hospital, which plays a vital role in providing healthcare services to the local community, will now carry the legacy of one of Pakistan’s greatest athletes. The move reflects the government’s commitment to recognizing and honoring the contributions of its national heroes.
