Internet Users Face Disruption in Several Cities of Pakistan

Pakistan has been experiencing internet slowdowns across the country, mainly due to overloading and ongoing upgrades to the Web Management System, often referred to as the “internet firewall.” This upgrade aims to improve the system’s ability to handle up to 9 terabytes of internet traffic. Unfortunately, this process has led to lower bandwidth, causing disruptions for many users.

People in various cities, including Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore, have reported issues with their internet and social media services. According to Netblocks, users have faced disruptions with WhatsApp services in these areas over the past 24 hours.

These slowdowns have affected daily activities, making it difficult for people to connect with others and access online services. Many are frustrated by the poor internet performance, especially as they rely on the internet for work, communication, and entertainment.

As the upgrade continues, it is hoped that the situation will improve and that users will eventually benefit from a more robust and efficient internet service. For now, however, many Pakistanis are dealing with slower internet speeds and interruptions to their online activities.
