Rs 1 Trillion Needed Annually for Karachi’s Development, Sindh CM

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has underlined the enormous financial need to develop and improve Karachi. He mentioned that the city would require around Rs1 trillion annually to address critical infrastructure and development issues. However, due to limited resources, the government has only been able to allocate Rs218 billion for this year.

Shah emphasized the importance of investing heavily in infrastructure, reconstruction, and development projects, as these would help tackle the city’s major challenges and enhance the standard of living for Karachi’s residents.

The CM made these remarks during a meeting with the National Press Club in Islamabad, where journalists, who had recently toured various districts of Sindh, appreciated the government’s development work in those areas.

This growing demand for financial resources reflects the significant effort needed to transform Karachi, a city struggling with infrastructure challenges, into a more livable and efficient urban space. The provincial government is determined to continue its focus on these vital projects despite the resource gaps.
