Pakistan’s first multi-mission satellite, PAKSAT-MM1, is now fully operational, representing a significant achievement in the nation’s space and digital development. The satellite was launched by SUPARCO on May 30 and successfully reached its designated orbit on June 5, located at 38.2 East, approximately 38,786 kilometers above the Earth.
PAKSAT-MM1 is equipped with advanced communication technology, which will play a vital role in improving Pakistan’s communication infrastructure. It will enhance services such as TV broadcasting, community internet, and tele-education, while also boosting internet connectivity in remote areas, supporting the government’s Digital Pakistan initiative.
This satellite launch coincides with Pakistan’s improved global standing in digital governance, as the country has moved up 14 points to 136 in the UN E-Governance Development Index, reflecting its ongoing progress.
