China Sends First Female Civilian Astronaut to Space Station

China has successfully launched three astronauts to its space station, including Wang Huzi, the country’s first civilian female astronaut. The mission took place on October 31, with the trip to the Tiangong Space Station lasting six hours. This team will live and work on the station for the next six months, carrying out scientific experiments and spacewalks to advance China’s space research.

Wang Huzi, a nuclear rocket scientist, has plans to explore new technologies for rocket engines while in orbit. In an interview, she shared that she was both surprised and honored to be selected for this mission, marking an important milestone for her and for China’s space program.

The current crew on the Tiangong Space Station is preparing to complete their stay, with their return to Earth scheduled for November 4. Looking forward, China has ambitious space goals, including establishing a permanent base on the moon by 2035, highlighting the nation’s strong commitment to advancing its space exploration efforts.
