The British Council has announced its GREAT Scholarships program for the 2025-26 academic year, aiming to attract talented international students to study in the UK. This initiative offers scholarships to pursue master’s degrees at leading universities across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
About the Scholarship
The GREAT Scholarship is a one-year program, fully funded by the UK Government, the GREAT Britain Campaign, and the British Council in collaboration with top UK universities. For the upcoming academic year, 200 scholarships will be available at more than 70 institutions.
Each scholarship is worth £10,000, which will go toward the recipient’s tuition fees. Applicants can select a university that aligns with their academic and career goals.
Eligible Countries
Students from 18 countries can apply for the scholarship, including Pakistan, India, China, Nigeria, Egypt, and more. Each country has designated universities offering the scholarship, and applicants must refer to specific university pages for details on eligible courses and the application process.

- Be from one of the 18 eligible countries.
- Hold an undergraduate degree.
- Meet the English language requirements of their chosen UK university.
