Lahore’s First Floating Restaurant to Open on Canal

Lahore is all set to introduce its first-ever floating restaurant, an exciting new attraction to be built on the Lahore Canal near Harbanspura. This innovative project, valued at Rs. 350 million, is being funded by the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) and is designed to offer a unique dining experience like no other in the city.

The floating restaurant will feature much more than just a place to eat. Plans include cafes, comfortable seating areas, and play zones for children, making it a vibrant recreational hub for families. The initiative aims to provide an engaging and relaxing environment for locals and tourists alike.

Three firms—Babar & Co, HRD Construction, and Riyaz Enterprises—have been shortlisted to bring this ambitious vision to life. Their expertise will ensure that the project meets the highest standards and adds a touch of innovation to Lahore’s leisure offerings.

In addition to the floating restaurant, the PHA is also working on revamping a lesser-used picnic site near the canal. This transformation will turn the area into a lively destination, complete with amenities for families and visitors to enjoy a day out.

This initiative by the PHA promises to redefine leisure and tourism in Lahore, turning the canal area into a popular spot for dining, relaxation, and entertainment. Whether for a family outing or a tourist stop, the floating restaurant is expected to become a key attraction in the city, adding a new dimension to Lahore’s cultural and recreational scene.
