Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has introduced an ambitious loan scheme aimed at empowering the province’s youth. Under this program, young individuals will have access to loans of up to Rs. 30 million to support their employment and entrepreneurial aspirations.
Speaking at an event in Islamabad, Maryam Nawaz highlighted the Punjab government’s commitment to the development of the younger generation. She emphasized that the loan initiative is part of a broader effort to equip the youth with opportunities to contribute meaningfully to the economy.
The Chief Minister also shared updates on the Talented Scholarship Program, which has already awarded 30,000 scholarships this year. She announced plans to increase the number to 50,000 next year, ensuring that more students benefit from financial support for their education.
In a significant step, scholarships are now being extended to private university students for the first time in Pakistan’s history. The program prioritizes female students, with 60% of scholarships awarded to them this year.
Maryam Nawaz assured that merit remains the foundation of all initiatives, including scholarships and the upcoming laptop distribution scheme. She also unveiled plans for collaboration with Chinese companies to manufacture electric bikes in Punjab, with 100,000 bikes to be distributed among the youth next year.
The Chief Minister encouraged young people to focus on hard work and personal growth while discouraging disruptive activities. She underlined the importance of fostering a positive environment where students can thrive and contribute to the nation’s progress.
