On Sunday, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Ali Zaidi declared that PM Imran Khan had gifted Karachi with Fire Tenders and Water Bowsers to strengthen its fire service.
The Minister said that the city will receive 50 state-of-the-art Fire Tenders capable of carrying 7,000 liters of water and foam, in addition to the two Water Bowsers that were delivered to Karachi on a ship from China.
He also tweeted that PM Imran Khan was thankful for the gift.
Although the port city has a population of more than 20 million, it has only 14 working and 30 dysfunctional Fire Tenders. However, the new fire tenders will improve the firefighting capability of its fire departments.
By the end of January 2021, the Fire Tenders and water bowsers are anticipated to reach Karachi.
