Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a warm welcome at the Tashkent Congress Center on Wednesday, where he met Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for high-level discussions.
Upon his arrival, President Mirziyoyev personally welcomed him. A formal ceremony followed, starting with the national anthems of Pakistan and Uzbekistan. The Uzbek armed forces presented a guard of honor, which the prime minister reviewed alongside the Uzbek president.
After the welcome ceremony, both leaders introduced their delegations before beginning official talks. These discussions aim to strengthen relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan in key areas, including trade, investment, regional connectivity, energy, defense, security, and education.
The visit highlights the growing partnership between the two countries, focusing on mutual economic and strategic interests.
