Here’s Why Over 3,000 Passengers Stopped From Going Abroad From Lahore Airport?

Authorities at Lahore Airport have stopped more than 3,000 passengers from flying abroad since the beginning of this year. The reason? Many were found with fake, suspicious, or incomplete travel documents.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore Zone has ramped up its efforts to prevent illegal travel and human smuggling. As part of this crackdown, security teams have been closely inspecting passenger documents and identifying those attempting to leave the country with forged papers.

Officials revealed that several individuals were caught trying to board flights using fraudulent visas and passports. Additionally, a number of people were attempting to travel under false pretenses, including those engaging in begging activities abroad.

So far, 10 individuals have been arrested for carrying fake documents, while 35 others were taken into custody for their suspected involvement in organized begging networks.

In another major operation, FIA successfully stopped 12 fugitives, who were wanted by Punjab Police for serious criminal offenses, from fleeing the country. These individuals were on law enforcement watchlists and were attempting to escape prosecution.

FIA Lahore Zone Director Sarfaraz Khan Virk stated that authorities are committed to maintaining strict checks on travel records to curb illegal activities at the airport. He emphasized that the agency will continue to enforce a zero-tolerance policy against human smuggling and illegal travel in the coming months.
