Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to Meet Today for Ramadan Moon Sighting

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet this evening in Peshawar to observe the moon for Ramazan 2025. The meeting will be led by Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad as the government aims to ensure a unified start to the holy month across Pakistan.

According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, the main meeting will take place at the Auqaf Department building in Peshawar. At the same time, zonal and district Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will hold their own meetings at their respective headquarters to observe the moon.

Once the observations are completed, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will review all reports and make the final decision on whether the Ramazan moon has been sighted. Their announcement will determine the official start date of the holy month for the entire country.

This moon sighting process is important for ensuring that all Muslims in Pakistan begin fasting on the same day. It helps maintain unity and follows Islamic traditions. Over the years, moon sighting has sometimes led to different start dates in various regions, but the government is working towards a more coordinated approach.

If the moon is sighted, Ramazan will begin the next day. If it is not sighted, the current Islamic month will complete 30 days, and fasting will start the day after.

People across Pakistan are eagerly waiting for the announcement, as Ramazan is a sacred month of fasting, prayer, and reflection for Muslims worldwide.
