National Resources Limited (NRL) has made an important discovery of gold and copper deposits in the Chagai district of Balochistan. This exciting announcement was made by Mohammad Ali Tabba, who is both the Chairman of NRL and the Chief Executive Officer of Lucky Cement. He shared the news at the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum 2025, a major event attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir.
NRL is a company that was formed through the partnership of three major Pakistani businesses: Fatima Fertilizer, Liberty Mills, and Lucky Cement. The company received an official license in October 2023, allowing it to explore a 500-kilometer area in search of valuable minerals.
Since then, NRL has been working actively in the region, and over the past 18 months, their efforts have led to the identification of 16 promising sites that could hold important mineral resources. One of the main sites, called Tang Kor, has shown especially positive results. Drilling activities at this location have confirmed the presence of strong and rich mineral zones containing both gold and copper.
This discovery is seen as a significant step forward for Pakistan’s mining sector. It has the potential to bring economic benefits not just to Balochistan, but to the entire country, by attracting more investment, creating jobs, and increasing the export of valuable minerals. The government and private companies are hopeful that these findings will open new opportunities for growth and development in the natural resources sector.
