Starlink, the satellite internet company owned by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, is facing new delays in launching its services in Pakistan. PTA has announced that it will not grant a full license to Starlink until the company gets permanent registration from the Pakistan Space Activities Regulatory Board (PSARB).
Right now, Starlink only has a temporary registration, which it received in March 2025. This temporary approval does not allow the company to start full operations in the country. According to officials, a full and permanent license will only be given after all legal and regulatory requirements are completed.
Although this delay has slowed down the official launch, Starlink is still working on building its local infrastructure. The company is preparing its systems and technology in hopes of getting final approval soon.
Earlier, it was expected that Starlink would begin offering its internet services in Pakistan by November or December 2025. However, with the current situation, the timeline may be pushed further into the future.
Starlink aims to provide high-speed internet through its low-orbit satellites, especially in remote and rural areas where traditional internet services are limited or unavailable. Many people in Pakistan are hopeful that Starlink will help improve connectivity, especially in underserved regions.
However, the delay in getting a full license means people will have to wait longer to use the service. For now, everything depends on Starlink receiving permanent registration from PSARB and completing all the legal steps.
Until then, Starlink’s launch in Pakistan remains on hold, with preparations ongoing but no confirmed start date yet.
