Early Sunday morning, a 5.5 magnitude earthquake hit the Musakhel district in Balochistan. According to the Seismological Center, the epicenter of the quake was located about 80 kilometers northwest of Dera Ghazi Khan.

The earthquake caused panic among residents and led to the collapse of two houses in the village of Rārāsham. Additionally, five more houses were partially damaged due to the tremors. At least three people were injured in the incident and were provided with medical treatment.

Following the earthquake, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) quickly responded by sending relief teams to the affected areas. These teams are currently carrying out damage assessments and providing immediate help to the impacted families.

Local authorities have assured that rescue and relief efforts will continue, especially in remote areas where help is harder to reach. They have also advised people to stay alert and take necessary safety precautions in case of aftershocks.

This earthquake serves as a reminder of the importance of building safer structures and staying prepared for natural disasters. With quick response efforts now underway, authorities are working to ensure the safety and recovery of the affected communities.

Residents are encouraged to report any damage to local officials and follow PDMA instructions to stay safe.
