Overseas Pakistanis Sent $38.3 Billion Back Country, Highest Ever in Pakistan

Pakistan received a record-breaking $38.3 billion in remittances during the fiscal year 2024-25, according to the State Bank of Pakistan. This is a 27% increase compared to the previous year, when the country received $30.3 billion. That means overseas Pakistanis sent $8 billion more than they did in FY2023-24.

In June 2025 alone, remittances reached $3.4 billion. While this amount was 8% higher than the same month last year, it was slightly lower by 8% than the $3.7 billion received in May 2025.

Topline Securities confirmed that FY2024-25 marks the highest-ever remittance inflow in Pakistan’s history.

This significant growth shows the strong commitment and trust of overseas Pakistanis, who continue to support the country by sending money home. These remittances are an important part of Pakistan’s economy. They help strengthen foreign exchange reserves and improve the country’s financial health.

Higher remittances also reduce pressure on the country’s balance of payments and help in managing imports and debt payments. This flow of money from abroad plays a big role in keeping the economy stable.

The record numbers show that Pakistanis living overseas have full confidence in the banking system and are contributing to the country’s progress, even while living far from home.

This strong support from the Pakistani diaspora is a positive sign for the economy, offering hope for better financial stability and development in the future.
