Pakistan’s Javelin Thrower Yasir Sultan Wins Bronze at Asian Throwing Championship in South Korea

Pakistan’s javelin thrower Yasir Sultan made the country proud by winning a bronze medal at the Asian Throwing Championship held in South Korea. He achieved his best performance of the season with a throw of 77.43 meters, which came on his very last attempt. This strong effort secured him third place in the competition.

Sultan was the only athlete representing Pakistan at the championship, and his consistent throws throughout the event helped him finish among the top performers. The gold medal went to Sri Lanka’s Pathirage, who recorded a powerful throw of 82.05 meters to take first place. Yasir was accompanied and guided by Pakistan’s national coach, Fayyaz Bukhari, during the tournament.

At the same time, Pakistan’s star javelin thrower and Olympic champion, Arshad Nadeem, could not take part in the championship. He is currently recovering from a calf surgery that he underwent in Cambridge. According to reports, Nadeem has already resumed light training but has decided to skip the upcoming Diamond League events so that he can fully focus on his rehabilitation. Despite missing this competition, he is still regarded as one of the top contenders in world athletics and is expected to make a strong comeback in the near future.

This achievement by Yasir Sultan highlights the growing strength of Pakistani athletes in track and field sports, especially in javelin throw, where the country has produced remarkable talent in recent years.
