KP government has announced a salary deduction plan to support people affected by recent floods in the province. Under this initiative, all government and semi-government employees will contribute a part of their salaries to create a relief fund.
Employees in Grade 17 and above will donate two days of their basic salary, while those from Grade 1 to 16 will contribute one day’s pay. The deductions will officially begin from the August 2025 payroll.
This decision was made in response to the severe monsoon rains that caused widespread flooding in many districts of KP. The floods destroyed homes, schools, and public infrastructure, leaving hundreds of families displaced. Sadly, many lives were also lost in the disaster, and thousands of people are now in urgent need of assistance.
According to provincial officials, the funds collected will be used to provide temporary housing, food supplies, clean drinking water, and medical care for families who have lost everything. Relief efforts will also include repairing damaged facilities and ensuring that schools and hospitals can start functioning again as soon as possible.
The initiative is being seen as a step toward collective responsibility, where both federal and provincial governments, along with employees, are sharing the burden of helping flood victims.
Rescue operations and relief programs are being carried out in coordination with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to make sure aid reaches the affected areas quickly.
This effort reflects a spirit of unity and compassion, showing how people can stand together in difficult times to rebuild lives and communities.
