Punjab Police officer SP Ayesha Butt has brought pride to Pakistan by winning the “Excellence in Performance Award 2025” from the International Association of Women Police (IAWP).
The honor was announced at the 62nd Annual IAWP Conference held in Glasgow, Scotland, where more than 300 women police officers from over 40 countries came together to celebrate achievements in law enforcement.
Ayesha Butt, who is currently serving as City Traffic Officer in Gujranwala, stood out for her exceptional contributions in traffic management, public safety, and building community trust. She is also the only female police officer in the world to receive this prestigious award in 2025, making the recognition even more historic.
Her work has focused on improving road safety and ensuring smoother traffic flow in a city often challenged by congestion.
She has introduced awareness campaigns for citizens, strengthened enforcement mechanisms, and motivated her team to deliver professional service with dedication. The international jury recognized these efforts as a model of innovation and leadership in policing.
The Punjab Police expressed immense pride in her achievement, describing it as a significant milestone not only for the department but also for women in uniform across Pakistan.
They highlighted that her recognition reflects the growing role of women officers in areas traditionally dominated by men.
Ayesha Butt’s award is being seen as an inspiration for young women aspiring to join law enforcement. It underlines the message that with hard work, discipline, and commitment, women can excel and earn international acclaim in policing.
