The Sindh government has given the green light to launch 500 new electric buses for Karachi and Hyderabad as part of the People’s Green Transport Project.
These modern e-buses are expected to serve nearly 200,000 passengers daily, offering a cleaner and more efficient mode of transportation for city residents.
The project will also include bus depots, charging stations, and a digital fare collection system to improve convenience and reliability.
Officials say the initiative will help reduce carbon emissions while addressing the growing transportation needs in both cities. It’s a major step toward sustainable urban mobility and a greener future for Sindh.
Alongside this, the government has also approved a 16.5 km elevated expressway from Karachi Port to Qayyumabad.
The new route will reduce travel distance to the M-9 Motorway by 26 km and help ease chronic traffic congestion in the area.
Together, these projects reflect Sindh’s growing focus on cleaner transport, better connectivity, and smarter city planning, paving the way for a more modern and eco-friendly urban lifestyle.
