The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has announced that it will not be sending its junior hockey team to India for the upcoming Junior Hockey World Cup, which is set to take place from November 28 to December 10.
According to officials, the decision was made during a meeting in Islamabad after careful consideration of the situation. The PHF expressed concerns about the safety of its players, saying that the environment in India might not be secure for the team. Officials also mentioned what they described as India’s unfriendly attitude toward Pakistan in sports-related matters.
The PHF added that player safety remains its top priority and said it cannot take any risks when it comes to the well-being of athletes. The federation will soon send an official notice to Hockey India, informing them of its final decision to withdraw from the tournament.
During the same meeting, the PHF also discussed upcoming federation elections and the review of club records. Officials stressed the importance of working closely with the Pakistan Sports Board to ensure that all processes are transparent and fair.
