The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has introduced a new online e-Challan portal that allows drivers to cancel traffic fines issued by mistake, including duplicate challans, without the need to visit any office. This initiative aims to make the process easier, faster, and more transparent for the public.
According to PSCA officials, the online service will help citizens save time and avoid the inconvenience of standing in long queues at physical centres. The new system enables users to review and challenge incorrect challans directly from home through a few simple steps.
To use the service, motorists can visit the PSCA e-Challan portal, enter their vehicle registration number and CNIC, and then select the “Review” option. After that, users can describe the issue, such as receiving a duplicate challan for the same date and time. Once the request is submitted, PSCA staff will verify the details and, if found valid, cancel the incorrect challan.
The PSCA has also made this feature available through its official “Public Safety” mobile app, which can be downloaded on both Android and iOS devices. This allows drivers to not only submit review requests but also track their status easily.
Officials have stated that this digital step will help reduce errors in the system, speed up case reviews, and bring more convenience to vehicle owners across the province. Many drivers have welcomed the move, calling it a positive change that promotes accountability and fairness.
The PSCA’s new initiative aligns with the government’s broader goal of digitizing public services and reducing unnecessary paperwork. By offering an online solution for resolving challan disputes, the authority aims to strengthen public trust and make traffic management more efficient in Punjab.
